Oh hello there, nice to see you drop by again. And now for one of the products that can be classified as "Worth the Hype", the Ben Nye Face Powders. These are the ones that can only be bought online. Maybe because I haven't seen a branch of Ben Nye within the Metro. The hype around are all about the Ben Nye Banana powder. It is because of the yellow undertone that perfectly suits the Filipino color. But, we won't talk about that here, today we'll be talking about the Ben Nye Neutral Set Colorless Face Powder.
Let's first talk about the packaging, it looks like a typical powder container. The thing is that it has large holes which could be a mess sometimes especially because the powder is very fine. You just have to control the amount that you dispense on the cap and voila!
Even though that the powder looks very white, it doesn't give any white cast on the face (so please don't over do it). It is indeed colorless which is a plus because it doesn't have to change the color of your foundation or BB cream, making it more yellow or pink or whatever.
It is best applied with a large powder brush. It kept my make up in place for almost 12 hours. The key ingredient is the Aluminum Hydroxide which keeps you oil-free for longer periods of time. And the great thing about this is anything works with it. Here are some tricks on how to use this:
- You have an oily eyelid that even with a primer can make your eyeshadow crease? Grab a fluffy eyeshadow brush and dap a small amout of product on your lid. It will not wash out the color of your eyeshadow, it will just keep the colors in place for hours without creasing.
- Need to keep the lipstick in place? Swipe on your favorite moisturizing an nourishing lip balm then top it with your lipstick. After that, using your fingertips, dab a small amount of product on your lips for increased longevity of your lipstick. And it doesn't affect the color of your lipstick.
Got this for 450php for 1.75oz at Beautyholic Manila. I swear this is one of the best setting powder you'll ever have. Just transfer the product into a more travel-friendly container. Till next time! ;)
